The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for contributing to the planning of operations of the Branch office.  The position is funded by the Federal government.  It is open to a college or university student who is returning to school in the fall.  French would be considered an asset for this position.

 The Canadian Parents for French – Nova Scotia Volunteer of the Year Award acknowledges excellence in those who contribute their time and efforts to our organization. CPF – Nova Scotia seeks to recognize those who motivate others and promote the goals of our organization.

Nominees should be Canadian Parents for French members or volunteers who have participated in Canadian Parents for French, Nova Scotia events and activities.  Deadline for applications is June 1, 2016

Concours d’art oratoire 2016

Canadian Parents for French, Nova Scotia (CPF-NS) is looking for volunteers to judge, time keepers, emcees, and questioners at the Concours d’Art Oratoire 2016 (French public speaking) on April 23, 2016.

This event hosts regional winners from French first and second language programs throughout the province. Students at the grade 5/6, 7/8, 9/10 and 11/12 levels in will compete in the categories of Core French, Integrated French, French Immersion (late, early and middle), and Francophone.

Nautical Camp


Junior Counsellors

Each year, Canadian Parents for French – Nova Scotia provides an opportunity for over 500 students across Nova Scotia to attend French camp, a week-long immersion in the French language.  Canadian Parents for French – Nova Scotia accepts applications each for Junior Counsellor positions.

As a Junior Counsellor, students will be responsible to:

Ø stay in cabins with younger campers, and a Senior Counsellor.
Ø assist in camp programs (ie. skits, afternoon activities, games, waterfront supervision).
Ø be required to speak only in French to ensure that the experience is as enriching as possible for the campers.
Ø be able to network, and meet other high school French immersion students from across Nova Scotia.
Ø have room and board expenses paid for the duration of camp covered by CPF.
Ø be responsible for your own transportation to and from the camp grounds.
Ø receive an honorarium of $200 from CPF per week. Returning Junior Counsellors will receive a $225 honorarium per week.
Ø have a wonderful week of being with younger students, and having fun!
