French camp

Nautical Camp

The first Nautical Camp held by Canadian Parents for French – Nova Scotia was during the summer of 1998. The camp runs for seven days and is open to young adults in French Immersion Only between the ages of 13 – 16 years old.

Nautical campers stay at the beautiful Centre Nautique de l’Istorlet located on the southernmost island of Havre-Aubert. The campers are immersed in the culture and language of the Iles-de-la-Madeleine while enjoying activities such as sailing, windsurfing, swimming, and cycling.

A Canadian Parents for French chaperone will meet campers at the ferry terminal in Souris, PEI. The chaperone will accompany campers and stay at the Centre Nautique de l’Isorlet for the full week. The cost of the ferry voyage is included in the camp fee.   Staffing and programming are provided by le Centre Nautique de l’Istorlet.

Nautical Camp is a fun way for campers to learn about a new culture while expanding their French vocabulary!
