Bilingual Career Exploration Day

Location: Saint Mary's University, 923 Robie Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia

For Students: An opportunity to learn about careers, volunteering, student exchanges and post-secondary education in French. A chance to inspire students and share personal experiences enhanced by bilingualism.

The Bilingual Career Exploration Day (BCED) is one of Canadian Parents for French – Nova Scotia’s most successful events. CPF Nova Scotia has hosted over ten Career Days to date, in the region of Halifax, Sydney, the Annapolis Valley and Antigonish. Over 5,000 students have participated. Our next Career Day will be held in February 22, 2019 at Saint Mary’s University for French Immersion, French First Language students and IB students in grades 9-12.

Salon d'exploration d'emplois bilingues

Pour des élèves: Une occasion d’apprendre plus d’info sur des carrières, le bénévolat et l’éducation postsecondaires en français. Une occasion d'inspirer les étudiants et de partager des expériences personnelles enrichies par le français.

Le Salon d’exploration d’emplois bilingues (SEEB) de Canadian Parents for French - Nouvelle-Écosse (CPF-NÉ) est un événement qui a eu beaucoup de sucées. Ça sera le 11e salon et plus de 5000 élèves de la Nouvelle-Écosse y ont déjà participé. La prochaine journée carrière sera le 22 fevrier 2019 au l’Université Saint Mary’s pour les élèves de l’école secondaire (niveaux 9e -12e année) en immersion, programme IB et français maternelle.

TCRCE Concours d'art oratoire

Location: Meadowfields Community School, 106 Prospect Street, Yarmouth, Nova Scotia

The Concours d’art oratoire is an activity where students from across the province express themselves and are recognized for their talents in French public speaking. For many teachers, it is an opportunity to incorporate public speaking into their curriculum so that all their students benefit from the use of their researching, writing and presentation skills. Students will advance from their school and regional competitions to the provincial competition.

AVRCE Concours d'art oratoire

Location: Berwick and District School, 220 Veterans Drive, Berwick, Nova Scotia

The annual French public speaking competition for youth, Concours d’art oratoire, is happening Wednesday, April 19, 6:30 p.m. at Berwick and District School.

This longstanding event is open to students in grades 5 to 12. It celebrates official language bilingualism in Canada and honours the many hours of hard work students put into learning French every day. The top three students in each category and program will qualify to attend the provincial competition in Halifax on April 27. For high school students in grades 11 and 12, those who finish in first place at the provincial level are invited to attend national finals in Ottawa.

All are welcome to join us for a great soiree as students showcase their French language skills.

Concours d'art oratoire

Location: Mount Saint Vincent University, 166 Bedford Hwy, Halifax, Nova Scotia

Concours d’art oratoire is Canada’s largest annual French-language public speaking competition involving over a 100,000 students across Canada every year, and thousands of dollars worth of prizes.

The aims of this public speaking contest are to stimulate the interest of students learning French, to improve their oral skills, and to give them experience speaking in public.

This event is organized by Canadian Parents for French (CPF), who has worked together with parents and school staff since 1983 to organize school, district and provincial-level competitions.

Concours is open to French Second Language (FSL) and Francophone students from grades five through twelve who are studying Core French, Integrated French, Intensive French, French immersion (Early, Middle or Late) or French First Language (CSAP), or studying in at a CAIS school (Canadian Association of Independent Schools).
