French In Our Communities – Cultural Grants

CPF Nova Scotia offers cultural grants to communities to support local French language activities.

Do you have a terrific idea for an activity or event in your classroom, school or community?   CPF Nova Scotia wants to support local French language activities and initiatives!  To qualify for a French in our Communities cultural grant, an event must promote one of the following goals:

  • Be a new or innovative French activity for your community or school;
  • Be an event or performance that highlights French as a second language (FSL) or the Francophone culture in an educational setting (i.e. a travelling performer, workshop, concert); or
  • Be a special FSL or Francophone cultural event that is open to the general public.

French in our Communities Grant Application 2020-2021

Grant amounts are available from $250 to $1,000 depending on the scope of your activity. Applications for the cultural grant can be sent for from September to June.  Applications will be reviewed and processed as soon as possible.  Please allow time before your event to receive approval.

After your event, submit your receipts for the expenses and we will issue a reimbursement cheque.  *Expenses that qualify for reimbursement include: venue/space rental, buses, gas, price per head, meals, workshop presenter’s fee, materials, etc. Please contact us if you are unsure if an expense is reimbursable

Multiple requests will be approved depending upon funds available. Allow at least two weeks prior to your activity/event for the approval of the French in our Communities grant.
