Intro to French – Monday nights in Dartmouth; Thursday nights in Halifax

Welcome, bienvenue! This French course is designed for adults who are new to learning French, and those who feel they have become rusty in the language. Starting with the basics, each week students will study fundamental vocabulary and grammar. We will look at spoken and written French. A range of materials will be used to showcase the French language. The goal at the end of this course is that students will be more at ease when using the French language, and that they will be able to hold simple yet effective conversations that could be used on a daily basis.

Examples of everyday dialogues used in this class include: talking about yourself, expressing interest and dislikes, weather, getting ready for school/work, planning to do something, etc. At the beginning of this class, your instructor will ask you to explain what your goals are. These inputs will be factored into your course of study as much as possible.

This course is designed to be enjoyable with no final exam. Class size is kept small, with time for individualized attention from the instructor. If you are looking to begin, or get back to learning French, this evening course is for you!

French Communication Workshop – Tuesday nights in Bedford

If you are concerned with improving your skills in listening and speaking French, this course is for you! With less emphasis on written French, this course features additional time for those looking to become better at expressing themselves in French.

Whether you speak little to no French at all, or if you have some knowledge of French but do not feel confident speaking the language, this course will help improve your current skill set and take you to the next level.

Activities to improve French communication can include: listening to media content, engaging in spontaneous conversation, giving instructions, creating and delivering dialogues, reading aloud, and more. At the beginning of this class, your instructor will ask you to explain what your goals are. These inputs will be factored into your course of study as much as possible.

Throughout this course, an entertaining approach is used to make the class supportive, friendly, and non-competitive. Participation is the key to the class and there is no final exam. Small class size will ensure lots of individual attention.
